Truth, Beauty, and Goodness

"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." - Philippians 4:8

Welcome to St. Michael Academy!  I look forward to beginning our journey together!  When I first visited the Nashville area last spring, I knew special things were happening in Nolensville.  I recall jumping out of the car at the top of the hill at 7668 Nolensville Road and exclaiming, “The Holy Spirit is here!”  Nestled in the valley of a 166-acre campus, sat a beautiful building.  There was something special about it.   You could just feel it! As we climbed over wires and rebar, I envisioned the hallways filled with happy students, growing in knowledge, love, and service of Christ and one another.

The past seven months have been a whirlwind, wrapping up life in Dallas after 24 years at our three-time Blue Ribbon school, working on my doctorate, and settling into a new life in Middle Tennessee.  Whew! Through it all, I remain focused on St. Michael’s mission: to form saints and scholars for the greater glory of God.  Our vision is to create an exceptional culture of learning in pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness. Through knowing, loving, and serving God, students will recognize their unique dignity and become heroic disciples of Jesus Christ.

Each week in The Archangel, I will be sharing more about our mission and vision, the importance of Catholic education, details of our admissions process, open houses, events, our curriculum, and co-curricular programs—in other words, all things St. Michael!  It is an exciting time to build a new school culture centered on the pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness. It is sorely needed in today’s world. In the words of St. Paul, “if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."  At St. Michael, we are certainly thinking about these things!  St. Michael will be the new standard in Catholic education, and we look forward to you joining us in that journey.

May the Lord richly bless you in the week ahead.

Yours in Christ,
