The Great Commissioning

The Great Commissioning—Matthew 28!  It was the last exhortation of Jesus Christ, to go forth, to teach, to make disciples of all nations!  What a great privilege to be the principal of a Catholic school.

Catholic schools are special places.  According to the Unites States Catholic Conference of Bishops, Catholic schools “afford the fullest and best opportunity to realize the fourfold purpose of Christian education, namely, to provide an atmosphere in which the Gospel message is proclaimed, community in Christ is experienced, service to our sisters and brothers is the norm, and thanksgiving and worship of our God is cultivated.”  Isn’t that beautiful?

At St. Michael we are forming saints and scholars for the glory of God.  Our students will be reading the daily Gospel in religion class, celebrating mass together with our chaplain, Fr. Mark Simpson, learning about their faith through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, and partnering with local organizations to learn how to serve as Jesus did.  We will be learning about virtue and the saints through the Virtues in Practice program from the Nashville Dominicans.  All subjects will be taught from a Christian worldview.  In short, our students will be provided with daily opportunities to enter into a relationship with the Master Teacher—Jesus Christ.  We know that parents are the primary educators of their children, and we want to partner with all our families in the total formation of their children.  We are here to serve you.

The response to our school tours has been overwhelming. Our Director of Communications and Admissions has opened additional tours at 1 pm on Mondays.  Please visit our beautiful campus and learn more about the exceptional culture of learning that will be SMA.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

May the Lord richly bless you in the week ahead.

Yours in Christ,

Shana Druffner
